AI Tailor Resume ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at https://aitailorresume.com and the AI Tailor Resume Chrome Extension. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By using our service you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

Account information: When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or GitHub we receive your name and email from those providers.

Resume content: When you upload a resume we store the file and its parsed text so we can tailor it for you. You can delete your resumes at any time from your account.

Job descriptions: Job descriptions you paste or scrape are stored temporarily to power the tailoring pipeline and ATS analysis.

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics (page views, feature interactions) via Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to improve the product. No personally identifiable information is sent to these services.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Dodo Payments and Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive a confirmation of your subscription status only.

Error logs: If an error occurs in the app we log technical details (route, error message, user ID) via Sentry to help us fix bugs. No resume content is included in error logs.

The AI Tailor Resume Chrome Extension reads job posting content (job title, company name, location, and job description text) from the page you are viewing when you click the extension icon.

This data is passed directly to https://aitailorresume.com to pre-fill your resume tailoring session. It is not sent to any third party, not stored in the extension, and not shared beyond this purpose.

The extension uses chrome.storage.local only as a temporary bridge to pass job data between the extension popup and the newly opened tab. This data is cleared immediately after it is read.

• To provide and improve the resume tailoring, ATS scoring, and cover letter generation services
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts)
• To send optional product update emails (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To detect and fix errors and bugs
• To understand how features are used so we can improve them

We do not sell your data. We do not share your resume content or personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

Resume files and tailored CVs are retained according to your plan:

• Free plan: 7 days
• Basic plan: 30 days
• Pro plan: 60 days

Account data is retained until you delete your account. You can request account deletion by emailing us at aitailorresume@gmail.com.

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• OpenAI — powers the AI tailoring. Resume content is sent to OpenAI for processing and is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy.
• Neon (PostgreSQL) — our database provider
• Cloudflare R2 — resume file storage
• Dodo Payments / Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Sentry — error monitoring
• PostHog — product analytics
• Google Analytics 4 — website analytics

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (NextAuth.js). We also use analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4 and PostHog. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability

AI Tailor Resume is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made.
